What this blog is about
Beautician Sonnet explains how casino games work. Not whether you should play them, and not where to play them, but what actually happens at the table or on the screen: the rules, the side bets and features, and the numbers that sit underneath it all.
I'm Darcy Whitlock, a writer based in Melbourne. I spend a lot of time staring at table layouts that look more complicated than they are, then trying to write them out in plain English. If a game has a paytable, a house edge or an odd little rule that trips people up, there's a good chance I'll want to pull it apart here.
Who it's for
This is for anyone who's ever watched a game and wondered how it's put together. You don't need any background in maths or gambling. If you're curious about why roulette pays what it pays, or what a multiplier really does, you're in the right spot.
How the articles are made
Each piece is researched from the providers' own game sheets and rules documents, plus other sources I've checked against each other. Where the numbers come from somewhere, I'll say so.
The blog is independent. It takes no payment from casinos and links to none. That keeps the explaining honest.
